Theodora Mavropoulos is a journalist and producer for international print, radio and TV newsrooms in the fields of culture, politics and society.

Whether text, audio or video formats — she is experienced in preparing complex topics for target audiences, in creative format development and in cross-media storytelling. From reportage and features to portraits and interviews, news texts, commentary and pure agency copy, she has worked across every format. She also brings technical skills in video editing and SEO.

Theodora Mavropoulos reported from Greece from 2012 to 2020 — first on the economic crisis, later on the refugees arriving on the Greek islands. In her reporting she consistently placed the people affected at the centre, carrying hard facts into stories and making them tangible. In Greece and Berlin she worked repeatedly as a producer for the Associated Press.

With Berlin as her base, she today produces video in the fields of culture and lifestyle across Europe, creates radio pieces across a range of genres, and writes texts on politics and society.

Raphael Kominis is a video journalist, cinematographer, editor and producer with over a decade of experience at international media organisations. From 2011 he was the lead stringer for the AP Athens Bureau, where his roles spanned the full operational spectrum — from field video journalist and cinematographer to output producer, reviewing and clearing material to AP broadcast standards. In a senior capacity he coordinated multiple camera crews during breaking-news operations and deputised for the bureau's senior producer. His assignments included several Greek elections, civil unrest and multi-year frontline coverage of the refugee crisis on Lesbos, Chios and Kos — including extended deployments inside the Moria refugee camp, where his native fluency in French allowed him to report directly on displaced West African populations.

Since 2016 Raphael has worked as cinematographer and editor for Deutsche Welle — across Euromaxx, DW Travel and DW Food — producing cultural features and travel journalism alongside Theodora Mavropoulos. He edits regularly for the Franco-German cultural network Arte, and works as camera operator for France 24 and AFP on internationally distributed features covering German politics and society. He is a certified drone pilot (A1/A3).

His editorial collaboration with journalist and producer Theodora Mavropoulos at AP Horizons, Deutsche Welle and Die Zeit Online forms the creative foundation of Apiko Media.

From 2022 to 2024 Raphael held a visiting lectureship at Media University Berlin, training postgraduate journalism and design students in practical video production. He earned a PhD in Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where his doctoral research examined the relationship between aesthetics and perceived usability in digital interface design.
